¡Empiezan las sextas Jornadas de la Red Española de Compostaje!

Estimados amigos y amigas:

Como Presidente de su Comité Organizador, tengo el placer de comunicarles que durante los días 14 al 16 de noviembre de 2018 se celebrarán en la Fundación Bancaja de Valencia las VI Jornadas de la Red Española de Compostaje con el lema: “Gestión integral de residuos orgánicos. Poniendo en marcha la economía circular en la sociedad”. Dicha Red es una asociación que integra las actividades relacionadas con la I+D+i de la gestión sostenible de residuos orgánicos desarrolladas en España por Universidades, Centros Tecnológicos y Empresas. Desde 2008, organiza de forma bienal unas jornadas cuyo objetivo es la puesta en común de los avances obtenidos por parte de los distintos agentes involucrados en la gestión de residuos orgánicos. Las Jornadas de este año tendrán el objetivo de analizar, desde distintas perspectivas, el aprovechamiento integral de los residuos como requisito imprescindible para lograr e implantar un verdadero modelo de economía circular.

La Red Española de Compostaje integra una amplia temática que va desde el estudio y manejo de los residuos orgánicos y su tratamiento biológico, por procedimientos tanto aeróbicos (compostaje) como anaeróbicos, a la determinación de la calidad de los productos obtenidos como consecuencia de dichos tratamientos, su potencial de aplicación y los impactos ambientales derivados de los procesos de gestión. Esta asociación supone así un punto de encuentro y debate de los distintos agentes interesados en todos los aspectos relativos a la gestión de los residuos orgánicos, con lo que se pretende contribuir a rentabilizar el potencial investigador español en dicha temática e impulsar la transferencia de resultados a todos los sectores.

Este año la organización de las jornadas estará a cargo de Global Omnium y el Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias, contando con el apoyo institucional de la Consellería de Agricultura y el Ayuntamiento de Valencia.

Representatives from the RRfW programme (my co-Guest Editors and myself) would be delighted if you would be able to contribute a manuscript to the article collection we are collating on the topic "Resource Recovery from Waste". Further details of this "Research Topic" (special issue) can be found below. We warmly welcome abstract and manuscripts submission via the link below by 14th May (for internal use only; not published online) and by 15th Oct, respectively.

In collaboration with the journal Frontiers in Environmental Science, section Microbiological Chemistry and Geomicrobiology we are organizing an article collection on "Resource Recovery from Waste" (Guest Editors: Alfonso Jose Lag Brotons, Kirk T Semple, Ian M Head, Anne P.M. Velenturf).
The aim of this project is to bring together international experts to provide a comprehensive view of this topic. Would you like to participate as a contributing author?
